FIBE Berlin: Where Europe’s finance and tech community comes together

FIBE Berlin

l. to r.: Steffen Jentsch, Tamas Giorgadse, Yoni Assia, Meagan Loyst

Berlin is Germany’s premier fintech hub, offering the perfect conditions for innovation, collaboration, and growth. With around 189 active fintech start-ups, more than €460 million in venture capital raised in 2024, and a highly international talent pool, the city provides a dynamic environment where banks, start-ups, investors, and technology providers can exchange ideas and shape the future of finance. The FIBE Finance & Tech Festival leverages this ecosystem, bringing together Europe’s finance and technology community on a single stage. The upcoming 15–16 April edition at CityCube Berlin will feature over 200 thought leaders shaping Europe’s financial landscape, including Steffen Jentsch, CEO of Solaris; Tamas Giorgadse, CEO of Raisin; and Yoni Assia, CEO of eToro, alongside emerging voices like Meagan Loyst, founder of Gen Z VCs.

FIBE combines content, innovation and networking in a unique way. Unlike traditional conferences, FIBE is a working platform where participants explore, debate, and co-create solutions. Panels, hub talks, deep dives, and workshops deliver actionable insights, while open spaces spark spontaneous exchanges between start-ups, banks, investors, and regulators.

FIBE Späti: Where lightning talks are held and meet-and-greets take place. In 2025, it featured, among others, former PayPal CEO Dan Schulman.

A working platform for Europe’s financial future

FIBE was created to bring Europe’s financial and tech ecosystems closer together – across sectors and countries. The aim is to create a place where banks, fintechs, investors, regulators and technology providers can not only discuss trends, but also work together on solutions. Cooperation instead of silos, implementation instead of pure vision – this aspiration shapes the programme, formats and community alike.

Masterclasses

Overarching themes – current and relevant

To ensure that the diversity of the financial and tech worlds does not exist in parallel but rather engages in dialogue, the FIBE programme is divided into seven overarching themes. These formats structure the content journey through the festival – from strategic industry issues and investor perspectives to regulatory developments and future technology trends. They provide orientation for participants and at the same time ensure that different perspectives consciously come together: established financial institutions and fintech scale-ups, investors and founders, regulatory authorities and innovation leaders.

Hub Talks – Navigating Challenges in Finance

In the Hub Talks, leaders from established companies and scale-ups discuss the current challenges and opportunities facing the European financial ecosystem – including Dr Malte Dous, Managing Director at Qonto, and Anais Monlong, Venture Principal at IRIS.

Investor’s View provides insights into market trends, investment strategies and economic forecasts. Contributors include Romain Grimal, Investment Director at BlackFin Capital Partners, and Jessica Holzbach, Partner & CEO of 0TO9.

Current strategic decisions are given space in the Breaking News format – in exclusive one-on-one interviews, including with Murat Kalkan (Global Head of Digital Banks at BBVA).

Technological issues of the future are the focus of the Fintech Trends & Future Talk format. Discussions will centre on how artificial intelligence, agent-based systems and open banking are changing existing business models – with Alexandra Beckstein (CEO & General Partner, QAI Ventures), Raffael Johnen (Co-Founder & CEO at auxmoney) and Maik Taro Wehmeyer (Co-Founder & CEO, Taktile), among others. Their panel will address questions such as whether agent-based AI marks the next step in the development of the financial sector or is only just beginning to realise its potential – a topic that is currently determining the strategic priorities of many financial institutions.

Partnership & Best Practices highlights successful collaborations and concrete growth strategies, for example with Oliver Bilal, Head of EMEA Distribution at Invesco.

Regulatory Dynamics are at the heart of Markets & Regulation. Here, Rupert Schäfer (BaFin) and Maike Hornung (Visa) discuss whether stablecoins will become the new backbone of the financial industry as early as 2026 – a panel that could hardly be more topical.

Finally, Founder Stories provide insight into entrepreneurial paths, challenges and lessons learned – with Tamas Giorgadse (CEO at Raisin).

Attendees will gain direct insights into today’s key industry debates – from opening private markets to new investor groups to balancing ESG and security investments – and discover Europe’s next fintech growth region in the “Spotlight on Paris” panel.
