What are the ingredients for an effective, professional press release?

PRs should be written in a journalistic, objective manner in order to fairly portray an announcement. Any superflous, flowery or emotional language should not be used, as it might negate the power of the announcement itself. A good PR will start with the date, the location and the subject of the announcement. It can be good to include a quote from a senior member of staff from the announcing company, as this quote is the only opportunity through which emotive language can be used. To conclude the PR, a summary blurb of the announcer can be included at the end, along with the company URL and contact information for the press or marketing team.
